Established in 1965, the Elizabethport Presbyterian Center, affectionately known as the “EPort Center” was established to address the social and economic needs of the working poor during a time when major local manufacturers were closing their doors and there was social unrest across the nation. With support from community members and the Presbytery of Elizabeth, the Elizabethport Presbyterian Center is one of the oldest non-profit agencies in Elizabeth and is an “anchor organization” in the Elizabethport area.
Located in one of the poorest communities in Union County, the EPort Center has helped children and families break the cycle of poverty through faith-based social services and educational support services
for nearly five decades.
Today, support is provided by members in the Presbyterian community, local community leaders, government, and private sector partners and philanthropists dedicated to the work of the EPort Center.
