he On-the-Job-Training (OJT) program, in collaboration with the Elizabeth Development Company, offers  subsidized employment opportunities for unemployed residents in Union County.   This exciting program is designed to assist eligible Union County unemployed residents find employment and start a new career in Warehousing, Hospitality and Customer Service Industries.

The program is designed to meet the needs of both job seekers and employers. If eligible, OJT are hired by a private or public employer and receive training that provides knowledge and skills essential to perform a particular job adequately.

Specifically, the Eport Center offers pre-employment training, workshops and orientations.

  • Career planning and Job search strategies
  • Resume writing
  • Conflict management
  • Time management
  • Communication skills building
  • Referrals for support services, such as child care, transportation, counseling, and more.

 

Upon pre-employment training, qualified OJT Trainees are then placed into jobs in:

  • Customer Service
  • Hospitality
  • Warehousing

While employed and in training, OJT participants are offered support services including:

  • Child care Transportation
  • Substance abuse counseling
  • Budgeting and Financial literacy training
  • Mental health counseling
  • Pre-employment training
