Social Service Programs

iStock_000009954775SmallThe Elizabethport Presbyterian Center’s Senior Outreach Program meets the needs of hundreds of seniors in the City of Elizabeth. Our service is unique because our objective is to either provide direct services or link these individuals to community resources such as Medical Insurance, prescription benefits, and assistance, food vouchers, social security benefits, health, fitness and wellness resources, assistance with raising young children (family strengthening services), affordable housing, counseling, and more.

The Center has operated a Diabetes Outreach Program for two years that has educated and screened hundreds of people at risk for diabetes. We expanded this program to include mental, physical, and spiritual wellness activities.

Our Food Pantry and Clothing Distribution programs serve those in need of food assistance and clothing. Most of our clients are either laid off, disabled, elderly, or underemployed. The pantry is open on the last week of every month on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Furniture Distribution is a service provided as part of the Center’s outreach services. Clients in need of food are provided an opportunity to submit requests for big-ticket items, and a search is conducted with donors who have gently-used items to contribute.
